TONY (ANTOINE) MORIN February 24, 1926 - August 3, 2005 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Tony passed away with his family at his side. He never forgot that life is a gift from God, given to us to be lived out, one day at a time. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Doris and their children, Colette, Emile (Brigitte and their children, Patrick, Marc, Christine and Darrel), Francine, Suzanne (Siavash Abrishami and their son Siamak), Diana (Egon Wittmann) and Michel (Kari Knight and their children Jessica and Alyssa). He will be deeply missed by his sister Lucie and sister-in-law Jeannine and by his mother-in-law Armande Marion and Doris' brothers and sisters and their families. Tony was predeceased by his son Andre, his sister Hectorine, and his brother Albert. Tony was born in Altamont. His family moved to Otterburne in 1944. Tony bought his own farm in 1953, working hard and expanding it over the years. Sunday was always a day of rest. He retired from farming, but never really left it. Dad's love of nature covered hunting, camping, fishing, driving around to check the crops, and bird watching (keeping the bird feeder full even at -40!). He and Doris enjoyed travelling. He loved playing cards, especially cribbage and poker, making many good friends. He will be remembered for his wit and good humour. He was always ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. For Tony, family always came first. His children will remember his unconditional love and support. His grandchildren are grateful for all the good times and the wonderful example he set for them. Cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Life (funeral service) will be held at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will take place at the family plot in Otterburne. Special thanks to Fr. Guy Lavallee, Sister Yolande Marion and Shirley Rochon for their visits. Thanks also to all the friends and relatives who were there for him. Many thanks to Dr. John Foerester and Dr. Marlie du Plessis and to the wonderful nursing staff at the St. Boniface Cancer Clinic and the St. Pierre Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to these institutions. Arrangements entrusted to: BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 150 Penfeld Dr. Steinbach, 398 Edison Ave. Winnipeg 1-888-454-1030 or 1-204-346-1030
