ANDREW (ANDY) JOHN TRONRUD July 16, 1952 - August 2, 2005 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the devastating loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Andy, with his characteristic strength and bravery passed away at home with his family at his side on August 2, 2005 at the age of 53. He will be very sadly missed by his wife of 32 years Vicki (Bobrowski); his two much loved sons, Terry and wife Erin; and Michael. His four precious grandchildren, Devon, Teya, Tyson and Tristan who motivated Papa to fight to stay with us. He is also survived by his mother Betty Tronrud; his sisters, Lynn Jacobson (Carl), Betty Jean Tronrud (Bryce Schellenberg) and his brother John Tronrud (Kim); father-in-law Vic Bobrowski (Ivy); mother-in-law Joyce Bobrowski; brothers-in-law, Deryl (Patty), Richard (Lorraine), David (Virginia); sister-in-law Debbie Small (Rick), and many friends. There are also numerous nieces and nephews who will remember uncle Andy's candy drawer. Andy was predeceased by his father Joseph Tronrud in August 1990, and his brother Terry in August 1972. Andy was born in Winnipeg and raised in Charleswood. He attended Beaumont and Dieppe schools and Charleswood Collegiate. He was employed at Imperial Steel Products Ltd. from 1973 to 1981 at which time he and Vicki purchased Rennie Grocery in Rennie, MB. This decision allowed him to be much closer to his prize possession, his cabin which he built at White Lake. Andy enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Unfortunately, in January 1986 Andy was involved in a snowmobile accident, which resulted in him being permanently paralysed. Following Andy's injury his main focus was spending as much time as possible with his family at the cabin. Andy was a warm and caring person with a very strong character and his own unique sense of humour. He left a lasting impression on anyone who had the privilege of spending time with him. The twinkle in his eyes combined with his beautiful smile will never be forgotten. Words cannot express how much we would like to thank his caregivers Carlos, Norm, Clyde, Don, Joy, Susan, and his especially adored Debbie Laba. Thanks also to homecare nurse Dawn, Dr. Giannouli, and Grace Hospital I.C.U. staff. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave. (at Rouge Road), with Lt. Col. Maxwell Ryan presiding. A reception will follow the service. At Andy's request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manitoba Paraplegia Foundation (for spinal cord research), 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca

  • To be honest we used to go down to the mouth of the river for pickerel...when we were kids he would even take us to Jessica to see the garbage bears. And on the good days a full cabin was a blessing with family and friends. - Posted by: Brent (Neighbour) on: Aug 07, 2021
