CATHERINE DAVIDSON MOIR (nee LYALL) Peacefully on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at her residence, Cathy Moir passed away at the age of 81 years. Cathy was predeceased by her husband James in February 1997 and her daughter Catherine. She leaves to mourn her passing her sons, James (Elaine) of Winnipeg, and Roy (Dianne) of Whitemouth, MB; grandchildren, Jeanette Spencer (Dwayne) of Chilliwack, BC, Carolyn Dueck (Terry) of Anola, MB, Jean of Winnipeg, MB and Tracie of Whitemouth, MB; goddaughter Jeanne Balleny (Brian) and her family; as well as numerous family in Scotland and friends. Cathy was born February 15, 1924 in Falkirk, Scotland. She served with the British Forces in the Second World War as a nursing sister. While nursing returning British prisoners of war Cathy met her husband James and they married August 23, 1946. Cathy and their sons then followed James to Canada in 1952 and they settled in Winnipeg in 1966. Cathy will be remembered for her active participation in Royal Canadian Legion Saint James Branch #4 as well as her love of animals. Many strays will remember Jim and Cathy fondly. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate St., Winnipeg, MB. Refreshments to follow at Saint James Legion, 1755 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne Spencer, Terry Dueck, Brian Thibeau, Len Guillemette and Dennis Guillemette. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
