Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGREGORY (GEORGE) MICHALCHUK Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, George Michalchuk, our beloved husband and father passed away on July 30, 2005, at Concordia Place Care Centre. George was born in Winnipeg on October 2, 1928. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science (1951) and a Bachelor of Pedagogy (1952). He began his teaching career in Beausejour, then taught his second year at West Kildonan. The next 35 years were spent at Miles Macdonell and Kildonan East. Having completed 37 years of teaching, George retired in 1989. He was predeceased by his parents, Gregory and Michalina; by two brothers, Dimitri and Alexander; and brother-in-law Roy. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his wife of 51 years, Mary; his son Matthew (Anne-Marie); his daughter Carolyn (Ken) Drysdale; two grandsons, Daniel and Stephen Michalchuk; a brother Lawrence (Louise); sisters, Anna (Ted) and Helen; sisters-in-law, June and Lorraine; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for a later date. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
