GERTRUDE (GERTIE) DUNCAN (nee SCHWITEK) July 16, 1928 - August 3, 2005 Sadly we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother at the age of 77. Gertie was predeceased by her parents, Matilda and Mike Schwitek; brothers, Carl (Mary), Bill (Olga), Alf (Vi), George and Harry; sisters, Katherine (Orton), Margaret (Dick) and Helen (Vern). Left to celebrate her memory is her husband of 52 years, Barry; her children, Rick (Arvella), Kerry, Michelle (James) and her grandson Stephen. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Marion (Harry) and Dorothy (George) along with many more friends and relatives. Gertie's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the quality and loving care she received during her stay at Central Park Lodge - Parkview Place. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of choice.
