MARGUERITE R. MANNING (nee LEMIEUX) Peacefully, on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, Marguerite went to be with our Lord after a lengthy illness. Born July 19, 1923 in Belleview, MB, Marguerite spent her formative years in Maryfield SK and Timmins, ON. After marrying Edwin in 1946, they owned and managed hotels in Port Dover, ON and Transcona, MB. In 1972, Marguerite was the first hostess/coordinator of Manitoba Farm Vacations. With her charming personality and contagious enthusiasm she led many tour groups to different parts of the world. She was honoured with the Canadian Silver Tourism Medallion in 1982, for her outstanding contribution to Manitoba's tourist industry. Marguerite was also actively involved with Direct Action in Support of Community Homes. Predeceased by her husband Ed. Loving mother of sons, Brian (Joanne) of Edmonton, AB, Hugh (David) of Chicago, IL; devoted Nana of Aynsley and Christopher of Edmonton, AB; mother of special daughter Karen of Winnipeg; dear sister of Cecile of Winnipeg, MB. Marguerite will also be forever remembered and cherished by her extended family in Ottawa. Loving partner of Marcel Caron for 16 years along with his children, Richard (Donna), Madeleine (Denis Barrette) and grandchildren, Jennifer (Sean Robillard) and Chantale, and Valerie Barrette. Donations to D.A.S.C.H, 3059 Portage Ave., Winnipeg MB, R3K 0W4 appreciated. Memorial service of thanksgiving for the life of Marguerite will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, at St Mary's Cathedral, 353 St Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Interment in Virden, MB.
