LORRAINE ALINE ROSE (nee STELMACK) After a lengthy illness, with her family by her side, Lorraine peacefully passed away August 6, 2005 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 73. Lorraine will be sadly missed by her husband Bob, sons Rob, Kevin, Kelly (Lori) and Curtis; brothers Gordon (Diane) Larry and Linda Wright; and her dear friends uncle Roland Turenne of Ethiopia, Therese Kuschar and sister-in-law Pearl Stelmack and her many family and friends to numerous too mention. Lorraine was predeceased by her mother Marie, her father Harry and brother Ronald. Lorraine was born in St. Boniface on September 8, 1931. She spent most of her life in Winnipeg raising her sons. Lorraine's boys were her life and she was always there for them. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, auntie and friend. Her special relationship with her brothers and sister meant the world to her. Shannon, Shane and Shauna considered Lorraine their surrogate grandmother. Lorraine was always the strength behind any of Bob's business or other efforts; including her dedication to the citizens of St. Vital during the period 1983-1990 when Bob served as School Trustee, City Councilor and Member of the Legislature. Because her illness left her to lead a quiet life, Lorraine spent many a day knitting beautiful treasures and crafts for her family. Getting one of Auntie's treasures was a special treat. At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial reception to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at 1:30 p.m at Thomson Funeral Home at 669 Broadway. Flowers are gratefully declined.
