ROSE POWERS (POWROZNIK) Peacefully on August 8, 2005, Rose passed away after a lengthy illness at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 74 years. Rose is survived by her sisters, Mary Moodrey (Alex Moodrey) and Helen Dunit of Meleb; brother Johnny of Meleb; nieces, Trish Kelsch and Virginia Moodrey; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Annie; brother Peter; companion Larry and nephew-in-law Jonni Kelsch. Rose was born in Meleb, MB on January 16, 1931 and attended Park School. She came to Winnipeg in 1947 where she worked for Silverwood Dairy for 17 years. She then went to work for the Manitoba Government until her retirement in 1983. Rose enjoyed her retirement, spending time with her family and in the garden. She also travelled to Hawaii, Arizona and California with Larry. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. Also thanks to the doctors and nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital for their dedication to Rose. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
