MARGARET BEATRICE CANDY November 11 1910 - August 02 2005 Margaret Beatrice Candy passed away quietly at the age of 94 at the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, 2060 Corydon Ave., Winnipeg, MB on August 2, 2005. Beatrice is survived by her daughter Sharon Beaumont (Henry), Winnipeg, and her son Garry Candy (Beverley) of Hines Creek, AB. Surviving grandchildren are Richard Kalyn (Kay) of Winnipeg, Kerry Candy-Molloy (Brian), Anchorage, Alaska, Kelly Candy (Carole), Joseph John Candy (Laurie), James Candy, Edmonton, AB and Dawn Candy, Red Deer, AB. Surviving great-grandchildren are Madison Kalyn and Macaulay Kalyn, Winnipeg and Jacob Molloy, Anchorage, Alaska. Bea is also survived by her stepgrandchildren, Tim, Sally, Kathy, Liz, Martha and Paul Beaumont and families and also by many nieces and nephews. Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Charles Candy; and her brothers, Harold and Lester Pope; and her sister Viola Pierce. Beatrice was the youngest child of John Henry Pope and Jane Eleanor Pope. Funeral services were held at Fletcher's Funeral Chapel on August 6 with Rev. Gary Goran officiating. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery Weyburn, SK, followed by a reception at Grace United Church Hall. Weyburn. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Richard Kalyn, Kelly Candy, Joseph Candy, James Candy, Dawn Candy and Kerry Candy-Molloy. Beatrice was a longtime resident of Colgate and Weyburn, SK. She was well known for her musical abilities as she and Charlie played for many old time dances, and the Candy orchestra was a bit of a legend in the Weyburn area. In retirement years she took up selling Avon and even though she didn't drive a car became Weyburn's premiere Avon lady. The coffee pot was always on and the Avon on the dining room table. Bea enjoyed her family and friends, and neighbours and lived a good long life. She never said an unkind word, never complained and believed to the end that she was truly blessed. The last few years of her life were spent in Winnipeg to be near Sharon and they enjoyed many outings together. A special thank you to the Portsmouth Retirement Centre and to the special staff on station 2 at the Tuxedo Villa in Winnipeg for their care and compassion. Bea was a real lady and did everything to the best of her ability, and she will be truly missed and remembered by all who knew her.
