Date of Passing: Aug 07, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTORIA CHRISTENSEN Suddenly on August 7, 2005, in the comforting presence of her sister Penny, Victoria (Vicki) Christensen, aged 55 years of Lundar, MB, beloved wife of Oluf. She leaves to mourn her husband of 33 years Oluf Christensen; son Rene (Misty) and daughters, Brandie (Donny) and Casey (Lonny); grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, Callie and Kenady; sisters, Carol (Sonny) Christensen, Shelly (Frank) Harck and Penny Einarson; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and good friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her nephew Taylor. Mom was born July 19, 1950 in Eriksdale, MB. She married her childhood sweetheart Oluf on July 10, 1971. Together they were blessed with three children whom they adored. Mom loved to cook and bake. No one had a touch like Mom. She fussed in her garden, in her yard and had a beautiful display of flowers. She made a point of travelling to many yard sales in hopes of adding to her collections. Mom enjoyed displaying all of the nick nacks and antique furniture in her home. Golfing became a great pastime for her. Mom also devoted many hours joining couples in marriage as a marriage commissioner for the area. Mom was always involved with her children and their sporting hobbies and would take them to their hockey, ringette and baseball games no matter how far away they would have to play. She also loved to take the grandchildren out for a drive enjoying the countryside and just being with her family. Mom loved to sing and play her guitar with the aunties . Many nights were spent singing her children to sleep. At Christmas, her home was a sight to see. She decorated both upstairs and down, and as the kids would say, it was absolutely beautiful . Her home was always open to anyone to share time visiting over a cup of coffee. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves honorary pallbearers. We would like to thank our many family and friends for your support and your gifts of flowers, food and cards. Also thank you very much for the help on the farm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vicki's memory to the Heart Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
