BINNIE (nee LAWRIE) Peacefully, on Saturday, August 6, 2005, Mary passed away at the Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home, at the age of 100 years. Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter Isabel; grandchildren, Todd (Pat), Tom (Colleen) and Diane; great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Jared, Michael, David and Justine; brothers, George and Tommy; and sisters, Jean, Anne, Dorothy and Shirley. Mary was predeceased by her husband Tom Binnie; as well as numerous brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. Mary was born in 1905, immigrated to Canada in 1906 and resided in Winnipeg all her life in the St. James area. In 1927, Mary married Tom Binnie. She was very active in church and other activities. A Celebration of Mary's Life was held on Thursday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. James United Church, 234 Parkview St. with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. A private family interment will follow at a later date. Our family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home for the care Mary received. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Manitoba Special Olympics, 200 Main St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4M2.
