HILDEBRAND 1918 - 2005 It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of our dear beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather, John N. Hildebrand of Altona, MB (formerly of Halbstadt, MB). He passed away with his family at his side at the age of 86 years on August 10, 2005, at the Altona Community Memorial Health Centre. John was born on November 4, 1918 to Diedrich and Marie Hildebrand in Halbstadt, MB. He was predeceased by his wife Helen (Lena) of 58 years in April 2002 and two children in infancy, Anna and Dick. Left to cherish his loving memory are his son Peter and daughter-in-law Eileen, and grandchildren, Shauna and friend Matt, Sharla Behnke (Andy) and great-grandchildren, Samuel and Elona; his daughter Marian Wahl and son-in-law Ray, and grandchildren, Tammy Cholod (Andy) and great-grandchild Drew, Michael (Karen) and great-grandchildren, Laura and Kayla, Andrew (Renee), Rachel and great-grandchildren, Tanisha and Donovan; his daughter Helen Major and son-in-law Paul, and grandchildren, Jon, Steven and Lisa; his daughter Katherine and friend Victor; his son Raymond and grandchildren, Chris, Justin and friend Sonya; his daughter Jane Jackson and son-in-law Dennis, and grandchildren, Jaye, Jerilyn and friend Chris; his son Bob; his brother Jake (Kathy); his sisters, Eva Friesen, Mary Hildebrand and Tina Hildebrand; nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The family wishes to acknowledge sincere appreciation to the staff at the Altona Community Memorial Health Centre for their compassionate support in caring for Dad. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14 at the Altona Bergthaler Mennonite Church (267 - 8th Ave. NE). Arrangements have been entrusted to Wiebe Funeral Home Altona Ltd. Interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that contributions be directed to the Mennonite Central Committee (M.C.C.) at 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9.
