ELLEN KENNY Ellen Kenny, late of Abbotsford, formerly of Winnipeg, died with her children Tracie and Trevor at her side on August 9, 2005. She was born in Winnipeg in 1939. It was there she married Gordon Kenny in 1967. Ellen was a secretary but put her career on hold to raise her family. She served on several committees, such as Women's Aglow, Bible Study groups, and Feeding the Homeless. She was also on the ministry team, and received a counselling degree to aid her in her ministry work. She had been on several mission trips throughout the world. She moved to Abbotsford in 2002 to be near her family. She became involved in the breast cancer support team. She will be remembered and missed by daughter Tracie (Lee) Hannaford; son Trevor (Robyn) Kenny; daughter Leslie (Jim) Edmonds; and grandchildren, Drew, Greg, Lisa, Tyler, Brady, and Alaira; nieces and nephews, Bonnie (Don) Bisset, Christine (Louis) Marcil, Tammy (Al) Proctor, Harvey (Rebecca) Purnell, Fawn Purnell; great-nieces and nephews, Cameron, Kyle, Heidi, Treasure, Naomi, Blair, Justin, Jordan, Joshua. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Gordon; parents, Alice and Fred Harvey and sister Pat Purnell. The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Kobierski and the Pallative Care Team at MSA Hospital for their wonderful care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Breast Cancer Research. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28) Mom we love and miss you. Visitation will be held on August 19 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service and reception to follow at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (Aubrey Street entrance), Winnipeg.
