MELANIE GALLANT Peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2005, at Tache Centre, Melanie passed away at the age of 88 years. Ses parents et ses deux soeurs Bertha et Yvonne l'ont precedes. Melanie laisse dans le deuil une soeur Maire-Anne Gaudin et 12 nieces et neveux. Celebataire toute sa vie, Melanie n'avait pas d'enfant, mais depuis 18 ans, etait fiere de sa fille adoptee Anne-Marie Melanson, comme elle, une autre acadienne pure laine. Native de l'Ile-du-Prince-Edouard, elle pris demeure au Manitoba depuis 1953 a cause du climat sec plus favorable pour sa condition de sante. For 28 years, Melanie was a bookkeeper for Weston Bakeries. Melanie will be remembered for her remarkable memory, zest for life and her profound devotion to Mother Mary. Those of us who have been privileged to have known Melanie knew her to be a real blessing, a gift from heaven, a sweet little angel on Earth... une vraie catin, comme disait Rachelle. The family and Anne-Marie wish to thank the staff at Tache Centre for their kindness, special care and compassion given to Melanie. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16 at Precieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date in Prince Edward Island.
