OREST EDWARD HAWRYLUK Peacefully, with his family at his side on Thursday, August 11, 2005, at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Orest Hawryluk, aged 77 years, a lifelong resident of Winnipeg Beach. Orest was predeceased by his wife Patricia in 1996; father Michael in 1974; mother Violet in 1991. He is survived by his children, Jeff (Barb), Carlee and Kendlee; Mitch (Joanne), Breann and Brett; Darryl and Jill; as well as sisters, Edith Fellenburg and Francis (Roy) King. Orest was born in Winnipeg Beach on June 20, 1928. He met and married Patricia Sutherland on September 15, 1956. In 1939 he began working at the Snap Inn Cafe and eventually went on to own it. In 1969 he became one of the original employees at Seagrams Distillery in Gimli and worked there until retirement. Orest enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed life to it's fullest. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of the Lake Church in Winnipeg Beach. Honorary pallbearers will be Ian Moore, Dave Shaw, Mark Kowerko, Lyle Capuska, grandchildren Carlee, Kendlee, Breann and Brett Hawryluk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gimli Community Health Centre Healing Garden, Box 250, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. Special thanks to Dr. R.C. Patel and nursing staff at the Gimli Hospital and special thanks to all of Orest's friends during his illness and throughout his life.
