Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCELLE CHICOINE Peacefully, on August 5, 2005, surrounded by her family at Riverview Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer, our mom joined her brothers, Sanford and Almour Chicoine, sisters, Hilda Godbout, Blanche Peterson, Denise Veilleux and close friend Yvonne Matthews. She is survived by her brothers, Paul (Olga) Chicoine and Rene (Fran) Chicoine of Thunder Bay; sister Janine McFadden of Sudbury; and also in-laws, Pat Veilleux of Hearst, Luce Chicoine of Schreiber and Norma Chicoine of Thunder Bay. She was born May 21, 1928 in Taschereaux, QC to Jeanne H'element and Eduard Chicoine and was raised in Ryland. She worked many years in Chan's Moon Room and the Empire and Cambridge Hotels. She was an avid bingo player often enjoying a night out at Christ the King Bingo or Club Regent Casino. The lights of Las Vegas always put a sparkle in her eyes. She leaves to mourn her children, Dave (Dianne) Wood of Kenora, Lynn (Cam) Lagace, Ron Wood and Denise Wood; her grandchildren, Kevin (Kristine) Lagace, Christopher (Chrissy) Wood of Dryden, Crystal Wood of Kenora, Dayna (Eric) Dahle and Lynden (Stacy Maxwell) Schultz. Also her five great-grandchildren, Joshua Dahle, Kyla Maxwell, Jordan Lagace, Amy Dahle and Alexander Wood. At her request, Mom has been cremated, with the family holding a private burial at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
