Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySUZANNE MARIE GAUDRY 1953 - 2005 On August 12, 2005, Suzanne Marie Gaudry (nee Ostaff) passed away after a short illness at Lake of the Woods District Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son Jason. She is also survived by sisters, Frances Petch, Patricia Maki and Maureen Rozon (Albert); brother George Ostaff (Donna); many nieces and nephews and very close friend and Jason's godfather Gary Miller. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, parents, Anna and Sam Ostaff and other relatives. Suzanne was born in Thunder Bay (then known as Port Arthur) where she attended St. Patrick's High School. She moved to Winnipeg and enrolled in a French Immersion course and when she graduated she received the highest marks every recorded in the history of that course to that date. Her mark was the highest received in Canada that year. Suzanne went on to attend College Universitaire de Saint Boniface in Winnipeg becoming a teacher upon graduation. She started her teaching career in Winnipeg, spent some time teaching in Thunder Bay and had taught for the Kenora Catholic District School Board the past ten years. In Winnipeg she joined the Naval Reserve achieving the Rank of Lieutenant Commander. In Kenora, Suzanne was a member of the Red Hat Society, an active member in the Water for Life Family Church, and was an executive member of OECTA culminating as Vice President. When Suzanne taught, most recently at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Kenora, she put her heart into the job, and was an integral part of her student's lives where her love of her job showed daily. Suzanne had recently travelled to Greece and Italy and planned on travelling to Moose Jaw to meet Lloyd's family for the first time. She also had plans and dreams of educating herself to become a court interpreter. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped Suzanne while she was ill, the health professionals in Kenora and Winnipeg, and her many friends and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, sympathy can be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Kenora Branch, P.O. Box 824, Kenora, ON, P9N 4B5 or to the charity of your choice. A celebration of Suzanne's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16 at Knox United Church, Kenora officiated by the Water of Life Family Church. A memorial service will be held in Thunder Bay at a later date. Private family interment at a later date. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Centre entrusted with arrangements (1-807-468-8633).
