RICK SCHREYER April 5, 1960 - August 11, 2005. With great sadness and loss, the family and friends of Rick Schreyer mourn deeply the very sudden passing of this beautiful soul. Too soon was he taken from his loving wife Lisa and their three beautiful children, Creighton (4) and their twins, Dawson and Ashleigh (1) all of Flemington, NJ. Rick's roots began in Winnipeg, MB as the middle child of Richard and Mary Schreyer. He will continue to be that sweet cream in the middle of his two sisters lives by leaving them with rich memories of their childhood together. Rick's sister Wendy (Randy) Bain, of Prince Albert, SK and their children, Michael (21) and Kristi (19) as well as his sister Melanie Pearson of Newmarket, ON and her children, Aaron (13) and Kira (11), all hold trust in their hearts, that though they can no longer hold his hand, that His hand is holding Rick's. As a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, Rick's career spanned the globe. Languages were no barrier to his eager zest to learn yet another new language in order to talk to new friends in new places. Siemens was a company fortunate enough to have Rick's dedication and management skills working on their side to win yet another contract for commuter trains for the international giant. Siemens' World Trade Center office in New York was where Rick was scheduled to be, when instead, serendipity made him late for work on that single fateful morning. Apparently it was borrowed time that allowed Rick to give more to the world for nearly four years, minus exactly one month. Keep warm and save a place for us Rick, we'll be there in a while. In the meantime we promise to take care of each other for you. We will kiss your three beautiful little angels at home for you and remind them about their loving Daddy, who only left because he had to go Home early to get supper ready for all of us. You always send the best cook Home first. Memorial mass in celebration of Rick's life to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 505 Brewster St., Transcona. A simultaneous service is being held in Flemington.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I am fortunate enough to know Lisa and her 3 wonderful children, they are all active in sports and are smart beautiful children with big hearts, just like their mother. Rick would be proud of what a great job Lisa's doing raising them. He's looking down from heaven with a big smile! 08-30-17 - Posted by: J (Friend) on: Aug 30, 2017
