Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE BERTOUILLE (nee KOPPEN) 1916-2005 Peacefully with her family by her side, Nellie Bertouille of Pilot Mound, MB, and formerly of Swan Lake, MB, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2005, at the Rock Lake Health Centre, Crystal City, MB, at the age of 89 years, beloved wife of the late George Bertouille. Nellie leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her loving memory her children, son Maurice (Kathleen) Bertouille, grandchildren, Brad (Patti), Grant (Louise), Suzanne (Brian) Hnatiuk, Bridget (Simon) Bedard, great-grandchildren, David and Matthew Bertouille, Megan and Brody Hnatiuk and Ines Bedard; daughter Joyce (Jerry) De Blonde, grandchildren, Patricia (Tony) Messner, Rhonda (Dale) Evans, Wendy (Darren) Maloney, Douglas (Twyla) De Blonde, Lorelei (Tim) Wytinck, Melissa (Jamie) Levreault, great-grandchildren, Justine and Stephanie Messner, Carrie, Meghan, Allyson and Tylor Evans, Richard, Geoffrey and Brett Maloney, Jacqueline and Jared De Blonde, Nickolas and Alex Wytinck and Joey and Colby Levreault; daughter Jeannette (John) Wiebe, grandchildren, Derek, Kyle (Sheila) Wiebe and Todd (Lisa), great-grandchildren, Tevin, Brittnay and Teagan Wiebe and Owen Wiebe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret and Alice Koppen. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1989; parents Barend and Aleida Koppen (nee Van Lokhorst); three brothers, Ben, Maurice and Bill; two sisters, Anna and Bertha; and by two siblings, Maria and Wilhemus in infancy. Nellie married George in 1935 and farmed full-time until they retired in 1964 and moved to Swan Lake. In the fall of 1995, Nellie moved to the Swan Lake Seniors Manor and in the spring of 2003 she moved to the Rock Lake Personal Care Home. She loved to read, visit with friends and play cards. She was a very caring and direct to the point person. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated from the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Swan Lake, on Thursday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the St. Martin of Tours Parish Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses at Crystal City Hospital as well as the nurses and staff at the Rock Lake Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. Also thank you to her three granddaughters, nurses Rhonda, Lorelei and Patricia for their special care in Mom's final two days.
