Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM PALMER NESBITT 1928-2005 It is with great sadness that the family of William Palmer Nesbitt announces his passing on July 28, 2005, at the Brandon General Hospital at the age of 76. With his family by his side, Palmer peacefully left us to join his wife Gwen and their young son Scotty. He leaves to mourn his passing his children, Sheryl and husband Bill Clyde of Balmoral, MB, Rob and wife Esther Nesbitt of Swan River, MB, and Jodi and husband Shawn Roney of Brandon, MB; along with his eight grandchildren, Megan (Keith) Vandal, Andrew, Heather and Caitlyn Clyde; Bradley and Mandy Nesbitt and Jocelyn and Kayla Roney, he will also be deeply missed by his sisters, Luella McDonald and Della Smith; brother Joe and wife Shirley Nesbitt; and sisters-in-law, Alma Kearns, Shirley Whelan, Gerri Fumerton, Myrtle Fumerton, Dot Nesbitt and Merle Nesbitt; all of his numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his many friends. He was predeceased by his wife Gwen and son Scotty; parents Percy and Annie; sisters, Bonnie Bell in infancy, Fern Gessel, Edna Bellows; and brothers, Ambrose, Ernie, Ivan, Mel and Stan. Dad married mom in 1953 and they enjoyed their time together living in Winnipeg, Treherne, Thompson and Neepawa. They were especially happy on their land south of Neepawa, where they built their home and tended their yard site with extreme pride. Dad worked for the Manitoba Telephone System for 38 years but was able to realize his true passion through his land. In the spring, after putting in a days work for the Telephone System, Dad would come home and prepare his fields for seeding. Throughout the summer months he would watch his crops flourish and, in the fall, would work long hours from his John Deere tractor, harvesting his crop. Palmer was very interested in nature and loved the outdoors. He appreciated wildlife and because of that, allocated a portion of his land in perpetuity, to the Manitoba Habitat Heritage Association. During his later years Palmer moved into the town of Neepawa where he took pleasure in visits from his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed the company of his neighbors and long time friends and attending regular appointments with the boys at coffee row. Palmer's family would especially like to thank Reg and Cindy Kwiatkowski for their friendship with our Dad. Thank you also to the staff at the Neepawa Hospital for their care and compassion for our Dad during his stay there, Dr. Ong for his care over the years as well as the nurses and doctors at the Brandon General Hospital who looked after him so well during his final days. Cremation has taken place and the memorial service was held at the Neepawa United Church in Neepawa, MB, on Thursday, August 4 with Rev Joe Ball officiating. The interment of Palmer's remains followed in the family plot at Woodlands Cemetery in Treherne, MB. Everyone in attendance was considered honorary pallbearers. Arrangements were entrusted to Budz Funeral Home, Holland MB. Those we love don't go away They walk beside us everyday Unseen, unheard, but always there Still loved, still missed and very dear. If friends so wish, donations can be made in Palmer's memory to the Neepawa Hospital Auxiliary, Neepawa, MB ROG 1HO.
