Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNATALIE (NETTIE) M. PAIZEN (nee LICHACZ) Peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2005, with her children at her bedside. Mom was born at home in LaBroquerie, MB, May 18, 1922, the eighth of ten children born to Nicholas and Catherine Lichacz. She helped with the family farm, and then as a young adult, moved to Winnipeg to work. She married our Dad on August 11, 1945, at Blessed Virgin Mary Church in LaBroquerie. In 1955, they moved to St. Vital to raise the five of us. Our mother was the original Supermom in that she grew her own vegetables and fruit, preserving them for the winters. She cooked, cleaned and baked, sewed our clothes, knitted, crocheted and did beautiful needlepoint. She also volunteered her time and talents to many organizations such as the Red Cross, and the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and the Women's Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion. When times were tough, Mom returned to her original trade as a furrier. Mom was predeceased by our beloved brother James Patrick; our Dad Michael; her brothers, John, Peter, Alex, Steven, Michael, Bill; and her sister Ann. She leaves to mourn her passing, four children, Carol (John), Robert (Linda), Thomas (Tami) and Susan (Andrew); seven grandchildren, Lisa, Lorie, Michael John, Robert, Danny, James and Grace; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Sarah, Nathaniel, Nicholas and baby Natalie; two sisters, Helen and Olga; 10 nieces and nephews. At Mom's request, cremation and interment has taken place. A remembrance tea will be held between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 18 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concordia Hospital, N1 North. Carol, Bob, Tom and Susan, I was very saddened to hear of your mother's passing. I always admired Nettie very much. She always made me feel very welcomed in your family. John and I are glad we were able to spend time with her in the hospital before she passed away. Even during such a difficult time she was a joy to be around. You were all blessed to have her as your mother. Debbie - Posted by: Debbie Enstedt (Family) on: Aug 22, 2005

Dear Auntie Nettie, I am so sorry that I never called to see how you were doing. Now it is too late. But you were my favourite aunt and I really loved you. To your kids, I really do know how hard it is to lose a Mom.It does get easier as time passes but you never forget all the memories. You are all in my thoughts. Take good care of each other and your loved ones. Time is so short. Love, Valerie. - Posted by: Valerie Bonham (Family) on: Aug 18, 2005
