Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROMAN MACIOROWSKI After a brief illness, Roman passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville, SK, on Tuesday, August 16, 2005. Roman is survived by his wife of 58 years, Olga; son Chester (Heather, nee Gage) of Calgary, AB; daughters, Mary, of Vancouver, BC, and Helen (Doug) Achtymichuk of Melville; grandchildren, Michael, Reid and Ben Maciorowski; Shawna (fiancee, Ryan Maystrowich), Kelsey and Brady Achtymichuk; sister Janina Maciorowska of Winnipeg; also numerous relatives in Poland. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Edward and Kaziemiesz. Roman was born August 9, 1922 in Ulan (near Lublin), Poland to Josephine and Stanley Maciorowski. He spent from age 16 in Germany (during the war years) where he met Olga and they were married on June 27, 1947 in Germany. Roman and Olga moved to Belgium where they lived for three years and Roman worked in the coal mines. Son Chester, was born in Belgium, in 1948. They then moved to Montreal, Canada in 1951 where daughter Mary was born, moved to Winnipeg in 1952 and daughter Helen was born in Winnipeg in 1954. He worked at Ogilvie Flour Mills for 35 years until retirement. In retirement, Roman enjoyed working around his home and garden and enjoyed reading. He got great enjoyment from his children and grandchildren and special pets, Gus, Quinn and Crackers. Roman and Olga moved to Melville in July of 2000 to be near daughter Helen. They worshipped faithfully at Holy Ghost Catholic Church until moving to Melville. In Melville, they worshipped at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church. He had just moved into St. Paul's Home on July 29. Roman was so proud to be Canadian, he loved Canada as much as he did his native Poland. Roman had a great sense of humour that he has passed on to his children and grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
