KATERYNA (KAY) NALYSNYK (nee MARTYNYSZYN) Unexpectedly, Kateryna (Kay) Nalysnyk, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away in the early morning of August 13, 2005. Kateryna was born in Lacko, Ukraine, August 7, 1924. Later, she lived in Germany, where she married her husband on November 26, 1947. Then, for a brief time, they lived in England before coming to Canada in 1952 settling in Winnipeg. They bought their first house in the West End on Chestnut Street where they started their family. Kay found a job at Weston Bakery and eventually worked for the City of Winnipeg for 20 years. After retiring in 1991, she enjoyed tending to her garden. Kay worked very hard for most of her life to help support her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her two children and three grandchildren, who will all miss her very much. Kay is survived by her son Orest; daughter Steffy; son-in-law Jerry and her grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel and Nicholas. She was predeceased by her husband Hryhorij (Harry). Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 19 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rt. Rev. Mgsr. M. Buyachok officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
