DOROTHY LAW (SHOTTON) July 30, 1929 - August 15, 2005 Peacefully, surrounded by love on August 15, 2005 Dorothy Mary Law (Shotton), nee King, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Fred King; her first husband Donald Shotton; sisters, Mary and Evelyn; brothers, Fred and George. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Les Law; children, Doug (Gail), Kenny (Janet), Greg (Colleen), Susanne (Dave), Wayne (Christine) and Linda (Ron); extended family Bruce (Brenda), Donnie (Darlene), Marg (Wayne), Gerry (Lorna) and Vernon (Lori); 35 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Ruth, Emma, Helen (Keith), Harry, Lawrence and Audrey; sisters-in law, Edith and Gladys; brother-in-law Neil Shotton (Sharon) and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was the youngest of 11 children and raised in Clarkleigh, MB. Dorothy moved to Winnipeg with her family where she met and married Don Shotton. Together they raised six children and enjoyed many summers at Toniata. Dorothy worked as a nurses aide at Meadowood Manor, where she made many friends. Following the passing of her first husband Don, Dorothy found happiness again with Les in 1989. They enjoyed travelling to places like Alaska and Nova Scotia. Moving back to Lundar led Dorothy back to her country roots. She enjoyed all aspects of country life such as coffee with the neighbours and the many evening drives looking for deer. Dorothy loved collecting dolls and teddy bears. She had a story for each one. Dorothy has many happy memories of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Eriksdale and St. Boniface Hospitals for their care and kindness towards Dorothy. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19 at the Lundar Legion. Friends are invited to share stories and a cup of coffee or tea immediately after the service. Interment will follow at Clarkleigh Cemetery. When God created Mothers, He had you in mind. Missing you already, Mom. We love you. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
