BRIAN PORAYKO After a courageous battle with cancer, Brian passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on August 16, 2005 at the age of 50. Brian will be forever cherished by his wife and best friend Terry; also his dear children, Dean, Terri-Lynn; and precious grandson Brady. He also leaves to mourn father John; brothers and sisters, David, Raymond, Sheila (Hank), Holly (Murray), Carol (Dave), Jocelyn (Ernie), Lyle, Elaine (Wayne), brothers and sister-in-law, Randy (Tracy), Wayne (Chris) and Donna (Griff); mother-in-law Irene. Brian was predeceased by his daughter Melissa and mother Violet. Family and friends that weren't mentioned are also in our hearts. In Brian's early years he worked on the family farm and was a commercial fisherman. Brian married Terry in 1981 and started a family in Grand Marais. They built a home in Libau in 1987. He was presently employed at Mars Sandhills Golf Course where he enjoyed his job and friends. Brian was a devoted husband, dad and papa. He was a very gentle, caring, loving individual, who was very proud of his family. Don't grieve for me, I could not stay another day, God wanted me now. He has set me free. I'm now following the path God laid for me. My life's complete. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Selkirk, with Pastor Dave Saude officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers - love your family - donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
