Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANINE (J.J.) VALERIE GROOT Tragically on August 14, 2005, Janine left this earthly bond at the age of 35 years. Leaving to mourn her passing her loyal, loving husband Walter Sokoloff and his son Nicholas; Therese Prud'homme (mother); William (Evelyn) Groot (father); her siblings, Antoine (Anne) and daughter Elise, Michelle and daughter Sonia, Rachel (Wayne); parents-in-law, John and Anne Sokoloff; and brother-in-law John (Charlene) and children, Jessica and Robert. Also mourning her passing are Denys (Lillian) and Jean Prud'homme, Joe Groot and family, David and family, Danny and family. Janine, known lovingly as J.J. by her siblings, was born on February 11, 1970 in St. Boniface. She attended Precieux-Sang School, then attended university where she received a third year CMA education while pursuing a modelling career. In 1997, Janine followed her passion for esthetics and photography with Walter and soon after opened a successful photography business. Janine had the gift to pull beauty out of all things. She was very creative and artistic and contributed to our arts community. In 2002 she worked closely with her father at his business. Janine met Walter in 1992 and were married in a most elegant ceremony in 1999. Janine stunned onlookers with her beauty and grace. She possessed many special qualities; she had a warm heart-felt caring for all animals, starting with Dolly her stubborn horse when she was 6 years old and left to mourn Cubby and Alexandra II, her most favourite canine children. She touched many hearts and souls with her kindness, her selflessness, her compassion and her love. She had great determination and drive and always took the time to relish very special moments in life. Janine will be greatly missed by all. The love of life that she possessed will never be forgotten. We all wish that we could change time just to have one more moment with Janine to say that we love her. As for we mourn our loss, we rejoice as well for her name is written in the book of life. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Janine's wish is that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope For Pets animal rescue shelter in care of Andrea McAnn-Suchower at Paw Pleasers, 1580 Regent Ave. W., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2Y9.
