Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE MARY MCLEOD (nee MCIVOR) March 26, 1927 - August 4, 2005 Catherine McLeod passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005 at St. Paul's Personal Care Home, at the age of 78 years. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Bill; son-in-law Sydney McIvor; sister Rosie Dumas; great-grandson Josh Luce; parents, Albert and Elise; and stepmother Madeline McIvor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willie and Sarah McLeod; sisters-in-law, Nancy McIvor, Christina McLeod, Dora Wood and Mary Butterfield. Catherine is survived by her children, Alice McIvor, Cynthia (Brian) Beadle, Tom (Joanne) McLeod, Albert, Joe, Cathy (Tyrone Bignell); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother Donald McIvor; and sister Helen McIvor; sisters-in-law, Ila (Steve) Nakonechny, Beatrice McLeod; and numerous relatives. Catherine was born in Cross Lake, MB, Saturday, March 26, 1927. As a child, she lived in numerous northern locations such as Nelson House, Pukatawagan and Norway House and later, with her husband, who was a game warden in places such as Baptizing Creek (50 miles down river from The Pas), Cormorant and The Pas. Catherine was united in marriage to William James Flett McLeod, Monday, August 6, 1951, at Norway House, MB. Catherine trained and worked as a nurses' aide at St. Anthony's Hospital and as an attendant at Rosaire House, until her retirement. Prayers and visitation were held Sunday, August 7, 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, August 8, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas. If friends so desire, donations to the Resident's Fund, St. Paul's Personal Care Home, in care of Box 240, The Pas, MB R9A 1K4, would be appreciated by Catherine's family.
