Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD CLAIR DOCKING 1938 - 2005 It is with deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband and father, Clair, on Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at one of his favorite places, the golf course, at the age of 67 years. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife and soul mate, Arlene, of 44 years; their three children, Greg (Heather), Todd and Stephanie; and his much loved little doggies. In addition to mourn are his brothers, Bill (Ede), Barry (Doreen), Wayne (Michelle); sisters Hazel (Serno) and Joyce (Peter); in-laws, Shirley, Alice (Ken), George (Bev), Judy (Bob), Bryan (Mary); and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Clair was born on February 13, 1938, grew up in Forrest, Neepawa and moved with his parents, Melvin and Lily, along the CN rails. He obtained his pilots license with Air Cadets and then joined Trans Canada Air Lines, maintenance, in 1957. Clair met his mate Arlene, in 1959 and married in 1961. Their three children were born in Winnipeg and together they moved to Montreal, Toronto and back to Winnipeg. He retired from the position of Chief Inspector for Air Canada in 1993. Clair spent his retirement years making golf clubs. His most recent joy was his new sunroom, where he spent most of his time this summer, sitting with his family, watching nature when he wasn't doing odd jobs around the house. Clair had a passion for sports, following his family throughout the years in hockey, football, ringette and any other sport that they chose to be a part of. Many other young people in sports benefited from his wisdom. His passion for golf started at the age of 21, with his dear friend Barry. His big desire was to have the perfect game. Clair was lucky enough to have had two holes in one and to have attended the Masters Golf Tournament. On the 18th hole at Teulon, he had hit the perfect drive and then entered into heaven. A Celebration of Clair's Life will be held on Tuesday, August 23 at 10:30 a.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. Our family wishes to extend special thanks to all his golfing buddies. Donations in Clair's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Dad we love you so much (DOD). We will miss you. Till we meet again.
