CONSTANCE KATHERINE BENOIT (nee PRYMA) November 21, 1932 - August 18, 2005 Surrounded by her loving family, Connie Benoit found peace on Thursday, August 18 at the St. Boniface Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Leo, who predeceased Connie by only a few months. Connie was also predeceased by her brother Leonard and sister, Marge. Left to mourn is her family of 12: sons, Frank (Debbie), Glenn (Tara), Jim (Cheryl), Ronnie (Andrea), Kenny and Raymond; daughters, Susan, Denise (Bob), Darlene (Danny), Yvonne (Harvey), Audrey (Kerry) and Annette (Randy). Her legacy continues with 32 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Connie was born and raised on a small farm in Ladywood, MB. As a very young lady, she made her way to Winnipeg where she was swept off her feet by the charms of a French man from Quebec. Connie and Leo were married for 53 years. She then dedicated her life to raising her family. With her strong work ethic and determined will, she kept the family together through hard times and good times. Once child-rearing was over, she worked outside the home for several years with Bonar and Bemis. Connie loved to go shopping, and spent many hours listening to the music of Lawrence Welk and Patsy Kline. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her daughters and visiting the casino. She also loved to travel with Leo on bus tours throughout Canada and the United States. Most of all, Connie loved feeding her family and friends with plenty of cabbage rolls, perogies and meatballs. The family would like to express their heart-felt thanks to the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Prayers will be said on Monday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m., also at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Rm. ON109, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. You were always there when we needed you No task too great or small With a loving heart and a willing hand For us you did them all. Thanks for the years you gave us, And for the precious times we shared, We only pray when you left us You knew how much we cared. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, He put His arms around you, And, said Come Unto Me. We Love you, Mom. God Bless and Keep You. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
