HELEN PAULINE SORKO Peacefully on August 18, 2005, at the Health Sciences Centre, our beloved mother and Babcia, at the age of 94 years, entered into the arms of Our Lord. Helen was predeceased by her husband Frank in June 1972 and by her son Edward in June 1991. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Stefcia, Marysia and Pawlinka. She will be lovingly remembered by daughter Adele (Walter) Szwarc; grandsons, Richard, Robert, Chris (Jacqueline), David, Brian; granddaughters, Christine (Jason), Heather; great-grandson Matthew; sister Bronia Moszkiewicz; daughter-in-law Jean; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Poland. Helen was born in Poland on February 14, 1911. She came to Canada at the young age of 17 and lived in Leduc, AB where she met and married her husband Frank. A few years later they with their young family made Winnipeg their permanent home. Helen was a lifelong member of the Holy Ghost Parish and the Catholic Women's League. Dearest Mom and Babica, Memories of your faith in God, your strength of character, your wisdom and most of all, your deep love for your family will comfort and sustain us. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father as celebrant.
