WILLIAM (BILL) GRAY 1920 - 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of William Bill Gray at the age of 84 on August 21, 2005. Bill was born in Fort Frances, ON and spent much of his childhood in nearby Emo, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and proudly served in the Second World War. He later joined England's Royal Air force. It was in England where he met Edna, whom he married in 1946. The two remained in England until 1954, when they moved to Winnipeg. Bill began work with the Royal Bank of Canada, where he worked until retirement in 1980. Bill and Edna enjoyed a long and happy retirement. They loved to travel and for the past nine years had spent part of their winters in Palm Desert, CA. They looked forward to their annual holiday, as they had made many friends in California. The couple also both loved gardening and had a small garden plot at Millennium Gardens, which they both enjoyed immensely. Bill was also very artistic, a gift he passed on to his three loving daughters. Bill was never without a smile on his face and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Edna; daughters, Linda (Wayne), Susan (Jim) and Bonny (Ron); grandchildren, Angela (John), Kevin (Felicia), Ryan, Tyler, Christopher and Ashley; great-grandson Matthew; as well as his sister Beulah. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation to the Salvation Army or the Winnipeg Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
