SISTER CECILE HUEL (SISTER MARIE SAINT-RENE) After a long illness in the Infirmary of the Missionary Oblate Sisters, our dear Cecile passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2005. She was 92 years old. Cecile was a member of the Congregation of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface for 70 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Adolphe and Emma Huel; her brothers, Raymond (at birth), Pierre, Amede, Jean, Armand, Paul, Louis, Marcel, Raymond; her sisters, Lucie (Griffin) and Sister St. Marcel, RJM. She leaves to mourn her passing the members of her congregation, many nephews, nieces and friends. Cecile was born in Forget, SK on October 7, 1912. Her parents, Adolphe Huel and Emma Careme were born in Loisy, Pont-a-Mousson, France. They met each other and were married in Canada. They lived with their 12 children in Gravelbourg, SK. Mr. Huel became Mayor of the town where he won the esteem and respect of the people for his accomplishments. Following the example of her sister Marie who entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Jesus and Mary of Sillery. Cecile consecrated her life to God in the Order of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface. She dedicated most of her life to teaching where she was much appreciated, but her most remarkable gift was her voice. She sang with power, quality and warmth. She used her gift to the benefit of her students, parish choirs and her religious community. Prayers will be recited on Wednesday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Missionary Oblate Sisters at 601 Aulneau St., Winnipeg, MB.
