Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) NESBITT Peacefully, with his family at his side, on August 21, 2005, Robert (Bob) Nesbitt passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 75. Robert leaves to cherish and share his memory, his wonderful wife of 49 years Reine and children Cheryl and Wayne (Gail). He also leaves his four precious grandchildren, Robert, Leanne, Steven, and Sarah who he was so proud of and always anxious to see. He is also survived by brothers, Ernest (Mary), Ben, and Wallace (Georgina); sister Irene Howell (Bill); and one sister-in-law Tina. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Susan Nesbitt; as well as his brother Albert and sister Agnes. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law John. Robert was born on April 30, 1930, and raised on a farm near Yorkton, SK. As a young man, he made his way to Winnipeg and gained employment at Tryson. He then worked for Ideal Brass Plating Company and later at Acme Chrome Furniture until his retirement in 1986. Robert resided in Winnipeg until 1987, where they moved to the cottage at Baie St. Paul, MB. Most recently they moved back to Winnipeg in 2004. Robert was an avid gardener. He took great pride and spent many an hour tending to his flowers and shrubs. Everyone commented on his park-like yard. He belonged to the Belcourt Community Club and enjoyed the friendship of many members. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25 at St. Bernadette Church, 820 Cottonwood, with Fr. Fred Olds officiating. A private family interment will follow in Holy Angel Mausoleum at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, Manitoba Division, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3G 1S6. On behalf of all of us, we'd like to extend our sincerest condolences to Reine and her family on the passing of Uncle Bob. Our dad always spoke well of his youngest brother, and I know that we always enjoyed our visits with him in Winnipeg., or when he came to Edmonton. We were very fortunate in having Bob in the family with his caring ways. He was always cheerful and cared strongly for those he knew and loved.We will miss his smile and sense of humour.Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Reine and the rest of Bob's family for strength during this difficult time.
