DAVID BLAINE KEENAS November 8, 1956 - August 23, 2005 Peacefully after a lengthy illness, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Dave passed away at the age of 48. He leaves to cherish in his memory his loving wife, Leona, his son Dylan, his parents Ruth and Walter, his brother Russ, wife Sharlene and niece Carley. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Janina Wojcik, nieces, Michelle, Kristy-Ann, nephew Kyle and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Dave was predeceased by his brother Kim, his father-in-law Jozef and grandparents. Until his health did not permit, Dave worked at M.L.C.C. where he met Leona and made many good friends. He loved nature and took great care of his flower and vegetable gardens. He loved fishing, hockey and the NFL, but most of all he loved to watch Dylan play football. The family would like to thank Dr. Hershfield for his compassion during many difficult times and Dr. Fred Olynk for his dedicated care and friendship. If friends so desire in respect of Dave's love for nature, plant a tree or rose bush in his memory. Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life will follow on Friday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 701 Regent Ave. West at Brewster with interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ted Wojcik, Ed Wojcik, Richard Zurawski, Kevin Coran, Brain Zimmer and Glen Taillieu.
