Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNA (RIEDIGER) LEHN Erna Lehn, 90 years of age, passed away peacefully at Bethania Personal Care Home on August 23, 2005. Erna was born in Arkadak, Russia on September 9, 1914. She came to Canada in 1923 with her parents and seven siblings. They arrived at Herbert, SK, moved on to Hanley, SK, and in 1935 made Winnipeg their home. She was baptized on June 9, 1935, in the First Mennonite Church of Winnipeg where she remained a member until her death. Erna worked for many years at Riediger's Supermarket, a business founded by her father and operated by her family. She will be fondly remembered by family and friends for her hospitality and generosity. In 1989 she suffered a debilitating stroke and became a resident of Bethania Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Lehn, in May, 1984; her parents, Heinrich and Helena (Klassen) Riediger; brother Henry; and sisters, Helen, Susie and Sarah. She leaves to mourn her sister, Tina Wiens (Frank); brothers, John (Kay), Nick (Betty) and Vern (Erika); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to all staff at Bethania who cared for her so lovingly for so many years. You were her family as much as anyone. Many thanks, also, to friends and volunteers who visited her regularly and helped her with things she could not do for herself. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, at 1:00 p.m., at Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg. Arrangements by Friends Funeral Services, 339-5555. If friends desire, donations may be made to Bethania Personal Care Home.
