HARRY EDWARD WARKENTIN God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So He wrapped you in His loving arms, And whispered Come with Me . You suffered much in silence, Your spirit did not bend, You faced your pain with courage Until the very end. You tried so hard to stay with us, Your fight was all in vain, God took you to His loving home, And freed you from all pain. Courageously with grace and dignity at the age of 58 years, Harry passed away August 24, 2005, with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife Aggie of 38 years; daughter Kimberley; brothers, Victor (Helen) and Ernie (Joan) of Winnipeg; and sister Liz Van Duyn (Neil) of the Netherlands. Harry was predeceased by his father Peter in 1986; mother Anna in 1996, sister Shirley Fisher in 1992, and brother Bob in 2001. Harry was born, raised and educated in Winnipeg, MB. While Harry had many interests, his number one priority was always his family. He was an active outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed goose and deer hunting in the fall with his buddies of many years. His other passion which he shared with his family was his garden. Harry was a giving person, who will always be remembered for his wit and humour up until the very end. He touched the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at Southlands Community Church, 85 Keslar St. (off Bairdmore Boulevard), Winnipeg, MB, R3T 6A5. Friends Funeral Service in charge of arrangements (204) 339-5555. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Canadian Cancer Society.
