Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET RESTOWANIK 1922 - 2005 Peacefully at Concordia Hospital on Monday, August 22 with family at her side, Margaret passed away after a five-month struggle with stroke. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1972. She is survived by her daughter Doreen and nieces and nephew. My mother always enjoyed her flowers, vegetable garden and working in the yard. She was known for her beautiful flowers. She was a good cook and baker and everyone loved her Christmas crescent cookies and khrustyky. She loved and was compassionate to all animals and had a generous nature. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, nieces, nephew and friends. Thank you to our family and friends who provided support through this difficult time and to the 3rd floor - Concordia staff who provided care and compassion in her final days. As per my mother's wishes, a private burial will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens on Monday, August 29. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, CancerCare Manitoba, Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of choice. I am so deeply saddened to hear of your mother's passing. She was a long time girlfriend of my mother Olga. The last time I saw her was at my mother's funeral in January, 2003. She brought my brother and I photos of my mother from when she was a child. I shall treasure them always.
