IN LOVING MEMORY OF OLGA LYLYK 1922 - 2005 Olga Lylyk, aged 83, passed away peacefully at the Maples Personal Care Home on August 25, 2005. Olga was one of six children born to Mary and Prokip Merko on June 7, 1922 at Ethelbert, MB. She lived on the family farm until moving to Winnipeg and marrying her husband Alex Lylyk in 1941 at the age of 19. Together, Olga and Alex raised a family of three children in the home they built in Point Douglas. She was predeceased by Alex, her husband of 58 years; and her elder siblings, Anne, Mary, Peter and Joseph. Olga is survived by her sister, Vicky Walsh (Fred) of Bellingham, Washington; her three children, Jerry Lylyk (Glenda) and Teddy Lylyk (Beverly) of Winnipeg, MB and Marge Nichols (Allan) of Vancouver, BC; her six grandchildren, Jonathan Lylyk, Christine Lylyk, Will Lylyk (Elizabeth), Rob Lylyk, and Dylan Sopko, all of Winnipeg, MB, and Stacia D'Souza (Erik) of Vancouver. Olga was a kind, devoted, generous and loving mother and grandmother, whose memory will be cherished by her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by friends and family. Prayers will be held on Friday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Cremation will follow with inurnment at All Saints Cemetery on Saturday, August 27 at 11:00 a.m. Special thanks to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home.
