EDWARD GILBERT MCCARTHY Peacefully, on August 23, 2005, with his family near, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Edward McCarthy passed away at the Concordia Hospital. Edward leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife Irene; daughter Marlene (Jerry); son Wayne (Darlene); grandchildren, Nadine (Chris), Clayton, Dennis (Catherine), Leslie (Erin), Clifford; great-grandchildren, Dexter, Druscilla and Sofie; also his brothers, Donnie (Fran), Ray (Carol) and Barry, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially his dear friends, Ed and Johnny. He leaves to join his father Jerry, his mother Margaret, as well as his brother Doug. Dad was born March 23, 1927 and was a member of the CN Family. He grew up in many areas of Manitoba. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father and was employed by the Canadian National Railway where he remained until he retired. He also served in the army for a time. Dad spent his retirement enjoying his passion of hunting and many other hobbies. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A special thanks to the wonderful staff and doctors of the 3rd floor, Concordia Hospital, as well as his kind and caring neighbours. In accordance with Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place with no formal service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
