She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jerry on December 20, 2003. She was also predeceased by her parents, Eva and Morris Fieldbloom. Sharon was born in Winnipeg and attended Luxton School, St. John's High and United College. As a small child, she lived with her mother and grandparents when her father was overseas during the Second World War. She met her future husband Jerry at a Y.M.H.A. dance and they married in 1954. They were married for 49 years until his untimely passing in 2003. Sharon was a kind, caring and considerate woman who was always interested in helping others. She was actively involved in the community and with the sisterhood in her synagogue. Upon retirement, Sharon and Jerry travelled to many far away places around the world including, Europe, Russia, Australia, Thailand and Singapore, to name a few. She had a very adventurous spirit and a curiosity about new ideas and different cultures. Many friendships were formed around the world. Sharon was involved in fitness, health and nutrition long before these ideas became mainstream and was an active member of the Wellness Centre. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved to entertain her family and friends at home. Sharon was a very independent and self-sufficient woman, but also very private. She took the loss of her beloved husband Jerry very hard. She cared deeply about her friends and family and this caring has been reflected back by how deeply her friends cared for her. Funeral services were held on August 22 at Etz Chayim Synagogue with Rabbi Neal Rose officiating and cantorial by Traci Kasner-Greaves. Interment was at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sid Rosenhek, Larry Ruskin, Morris Kagan, Neil Dawson, Cole Dawson and Blair Dawson. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Lenoff, Robert Ruskin and Mitchell Wagner. Shiva was private. Nurses: Erin, Laetitia, Debbie, Erin, Jessie and a special thank you to Jodi, Rob, Brian and Heather. Aides: Jackie, Charlene, Debbie and the others who work so tirelessly, without enough recognition. Susan Finley and to Debbie Frechette for her continuous support and commitment.
