CHARLES KRAMBLE On Wednesday, August 24, 2005, after a short and courageous battle with cancer, Charles, at the age of 95 years, went home to his heavenly Father. He was predeceased by his wife Jean Kramble (Brooks); his daughter Elsie Smith; his sister Christine Hewitson, his brothers, John and Willie, his sister Elsie and his brother Harold. Charles will be sadly missed by his sons and daughters, Chuck (Leona), Norman (Audrey), Jeannie, Tom (Carol), Judi Anne (Rob) Scott, Bunny (C-J) Dykstra; son-in-law Brian Smith, Robert (Catherine); his sisters and brothers, Carol Ring, Dorothy Harrison, Walter (Vera), Audrey (Robert) Pierce; brother-in-law Jim Brooks; and sisters-in-law, Olive Kramble, Margaret Kramble; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Charles was born in Winnipeg but lived most of his life in Transcona where he married, built a house and raised his family. He worked at the CN for 48 years in many capacities, retiring as a crew supervisor in 1974. He spent many enjoyable years at the family cabin at Almdal's Cove and traveling as a snow bird to Weslaco, TX. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. The pallbearers are Tim Kramble, Randy Kramble, Dane Sheppard, Trevor Kramble, Carrie Donaldson, Charlaine MacLeod and Jamie Kramble. The family would like to extend a special Thank-you to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority staff who provided compassionate homecare and nursing, enabling him to live at home, and also the medical and health care providers at St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles' memory to the Heart Foundation or charity of your choice. Both the viewing on Monday, August 29 at 7:00 p.m. and the funeral service to celebrate Charles' life on Tuesday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. will be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Burial in Transcona Cemetery to follow after the funeral service. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
