WALTER WIENS With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved father, friend and brother on August 25, 2005 at the age of 73. Walter grew up in Grunthal, MB and was the youngest of 14 siblings. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Margaret; brothers, Bill, George, Anton, Art, Edman, Peter; sisters, Trudy, Helen, Katharina, Susie, Margaret and Katharina. Walter leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Darlene, Cindy and Janet (Bill); son Barry; grandchildren, Jeremy, Barbara, Greg, David, Christopher; his brother Dick and good friend and companion Elsie Hudson. Walter drove the highway for many years across Canada and the United States. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Elmwood Branch No. 9 and an avid dart player. He was known for his pleasant personality and great sense of humour. His thoughtful and caring ways will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the paramedics and staff at the Victoria Hospital (3rd floor) and St Boniface Hospital (2nd floor). Honorary pallbearers are Bill Andres, Dave Ross, Doug Hudson, Fred Murray. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to a charity of your choice.
