BEN GREENBERG November 22, 1916 - August 24, 2005 Our dearest father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 24, 2005. Ben is now in heaven with Violet, his loving wife of 63 years. Ben was also predeceased by his father and mother, Charles and Freda Greenberg; and by his brothers, Morris, Ted, Norman and Sam Greenberg. Ben will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his sons, Murray and Glenn; and his daughter Terre; as well as by his grandchildren, Cory, Tobin, Shannon, Joel, Estee, Michael and Jamie; and by his great-grandchildren, Allyson, Anica, Dylan and Jager. Ben is survived by his brothers, Sidney (Lucy) and Irvin (Gilda); and his sisters, Sylvia (Reg) and Rita and will be lovingly remembered by them as well as by many nieces, nephews and good friends. Ben was born on November 22, 1916, in St. Paul, MN. He moved with his family to Gimli as a young boy. Ben was president of Gimli Transfer and Beaver Storage Co. When Ben retired, he and Violet moved back to Gimli and for over 30 years they spent six months in the town they grew up in and loved so much. They spent the other six months in Florida where they made so many good friends. Ben was an avid golfer and enjoyed many rounds with his favourite golfing buddy, Stan Cherney. His other favourite pastimes were billiards and a good game of bridge with his friends. Ben had a quick wit and loved to tell jokes to family and friends. Ben was loved and respected and will remain in our heart and in our thoughts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Program at the Gimli Community Health Center, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. Graveside service is to be held at the Gimli Cemetery on Sunday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. All friends are welcome to attend. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
