JOHN (JACK) CAMPBELL John (Jack) Campbell, born August 29, 1919 in Winnipeg, MB, passed away at the Riverview Health Centre on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Jack will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as a dear friend to many. Jack is mourned by his wife Frances (nee Bromilow); two daughters, Sandee Campbell and Janice Milne; his son Bruce; son-in-law Doug Milne and daughter-in-law Caroline Campbell; as well as his grandchildren, John Campbell, Barbara (Dan) Magne and Jennifer (Brad) McTaggart; great-grandchildren, Marc and Eric and many relatives and friends. Jack served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from February 11, 1941 until December 31, 1945. Following his military duty, he returned to work with the Canadian Freight Association (Canadian Pacific Railway) where he had started his career in 1937 following graduation from Daniel McIntyre High School. Having always worked for the railroads, he retired from the Soo Line Railroad in July, 1984. Except for a time working in Buffalo, NY, Jack lived his entire adult life in Winnipeg. Special thanks to the staff of the WRHA Palliative Care Program. A memorial service will be held at St. John Brebeuf Church on Wednesday, August 31 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, PO Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4A6.
