BERNICE WALL (nee MACDONELL) Peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2005, after a brief illness. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Alan; sons, Barry (Jackie), Bruce (Jan), Neil (Sandy), Ian (Bernie), David (Cheryl); daughter Judy; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason), Derrick (Leanne), Kevin, Tony, Nicky, Evan, Josh, Mason, Jackson and Madison. Bernice is also survived by her sisters, Theresa, Dorothy (George) Minalga and Marguerite (Jim) Emslie; numerous nieces, nephews and Charlotte Roberts, Art Ball. Bernice was predeceased by her parents Duncan and Katherine; and infant daughter Marilyn. During the war, Bernice first worked at McDonald Douglas in Winnipeg and went on to join the St. John's Ambulance Brigade. Bernice volunteered for overseas duty and became an ambulance driver serving in various parts of England. It was here she met her future husband Alan. After the war, Bernice returned to Winnipeg working in various occupations. Bernice went back to England in 1948 where her and Alan were married. They resided in England a short time and then returned to Winnipeg with their infant daughter Marilyn settling in St. James. Bernice was a devoted wife and mother to her family. Through her many European Pilgrimage's Bernice walked for the Lord and along the way made many meaningful friendships. Bernice was a devout member of the Catholic Church, well known and respected within the community. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 31 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Ave., with interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow the interment in the church hall.
