LEONA MARY WOODS Leona Mary Woods (nee Prescott) passed away August 27, 2005 at the age of 99. She is reunited with her husband Claire, her son Bruce, close companion Sid, six sisters and her brother. She is deeply mourned by her daughter Cathie, son-in-law Dave, sister Marge, daughter-in-law Merle, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Noni was an attractive, youthful, active woman whose love of fun and family charmed many. She enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives, dancing, a cold Labatt's Blue, her cats, cards and bingo. In demand as a hair model and fond of cosmetics and jewellery, Leona was also a sportswoman who enjoyed duck hunting. Her children and grandchildren treasure many fond memories of family Xmas dinners and Easter egg hunts. Leona taught us all to appreciate nature, and we lovingly remember her with every flower and sunset. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the geriatric staff of the Manitoba Centre for the Deaf for the loving and outstanding care given Leona in her last ten years. A memorial service honouring Leona will be held in the Affleck Room at the Centre at 285 Pembina Hwy. on Wednesday, August 31 at 10:00 a.m. Shauna McGinnis will sing.
