ARTHUR (ART) HORTON Arthur Horton peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 89 years. Art was predeceased by his wife Norma; parents, Jim and Alice Horton; and his sisters, Clara Peebles and Eva Hoffman. Art served overseas during the Second World War. He retired in 1983 from Brown and Rutherford Ltd. after 33 years service. Art and Norma were very active in many local dog clubs and avid supporters of the Winnipeg Humane Society. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Concordia Hospital. At Art's request cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m. Friends are asked to gather at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. prior to the service. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB or a charity of your choice.
