Born August 8, 1919, she passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 in Winnipeg, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of Jack Kendall, husband of 67 years, Stella was completely devoted to her children and family, loving her home on the Old Mill Road. With the help of her children, she was able to be at home except for the last few days of her happy life. She leaves behind husband Jack; sister Nellie; daughters, Gayle Bueckert, Lynne Herman, Susan Cudney, Kim Brewin; and son Todd; grandchildren, Kerri Tareta (and husband Jeff), Suzanne Bueckert, Julie and Chris Herman and Rachel Kendall; great-granddaughters, Megan and MacKenzie Tareta; sons-in-law, Arthur Bueckert, Lawrence Herman, Alex Cudney, Jim Brewin; and daughter-in-law Cheryl Kendall. Stella was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Martin Drozda; brother Joe; grandson Tyler Kendall; and great-granddaughter Taylor Tareta. Stella particularly enjoyed her knitting club of over 50 years. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 2 at 3:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street). Special appreciation to Dr. Paul Lu; Palliative Care Nurse Chris Springer; the staff of Palliative Care Unit 3E of the Riverview Health Centre, in particular nurses, Sheila, Alina and Linda; and Mark Shepherd, Palliative Care Coordinator. Mom... Our Warmth Your flame has blazed, Now flickered and died, An aching void we feel inside. Kind, loving, warm and bright, Numb and sad we face the night. Our mother, wife, confidant and friend, So sweet, so honest, so strong to the end. You gave us life, nourishment and laughter, Your spirit we'll cherish forever after. A special family you worked to make us... Happy, included, all equal and precious. The welcoming kitchen, the open door, You couldn't have given us anything more. The scolding finger that kept us on track, Devoted to family, the children and Jack. Mom, it's hard to let you go... You're with us, we miss you, we love you so. Peaceful rest...your labours done, Your memory will warm us like the sun... NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
