She was predeceased by her husband, Romeo; her brothers, Hermenegilde, Louis, Eugene, Maurice; her brothers-in-law, Wellie and Max; and she leaves to mourn her children, Guy (Kathryn), Denise (Jack) Williams, Pierre (Marion), Paul, Marie Claire (Michel) Simard, Marc, David (Lyndean); her 16 grandchildren, Suzanne, Richard, Michael, Elizabeth, Michael, Monique, Marcel, Matthieu, Maxine, Jeremie, Veronique, Marc-Andre, Eric, Anthony, Andre and Alex; her sisters, Denise Diesel, Blanche Lesage; her brother Paul (Phyllis) Prefontaine; her sisters-in-law, Therese Prefontaine, Frieda Prefontaine, and many nieces and nephews. Henrietta was born December 19, 1928 in Lisieux, SK, and spent most of her youth in The Pas, MB. She completed a nursing diploma from the St. Boniface Hospital in 1951. That same year, she made her way to England to marry the man of her dreams, Romeo Dugas, a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed in Europe. Since 1970, Maman has called St. Boniface home, boundlessly devoting herself to meeting her family's needs. She has also contributed considerably to her community through significant time commitments to various charitable organizations. A very generous woman, Maman rarely complained. She always projected strength and courage, especially during her illness. Visits from friends and family during her stay at the hospital were a great source of comfort. Family members would like to express their deepest gratitude to all those who helped support us during this difficult period. Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at Precieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St. In lieu of flowers, your sympathy can be best expressed through donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 949-2000, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 1-800-226-8464. • Sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. We used to enjoy our visits together. We remember the time when you drove up with your bus to Roosevelt St. and the landlord had just paved the driveway.; He sure watched to see that you didn't go on the driveway. He wouldn't even let the kids on it with their bicycles. It seems like yesterday. Jeannette used to say, that whenever she used to visit her family from here, she would see your Mother. We will be thinking about you on Saturday, Jeannette and Bernie Collins - Posted by: Jeannette & Bernie Collins (Friend) on: Sep 01, 2005
