She enjoyed many pleasant summers at the family cottage at West Hawk Lake. Knitting, ceramics, and bridge were favourite activities she shared with a very wide circle of friends. Family was very important to Ethel, and they enjoyed stories of her early days on the farm. An old friend recalls that as the Dryden children approached Lenore on their six-mile trek to school in the cutter, Ethel could always be heard singing. The family would like to thank Ethel's son Robert and his wife Gail for their unending attention and devotion to Mom; also everyone at Golden Links Lodge, especially the dedicated and caring staff on the second floor, north wing.
